What we discussed

Once we had our group sorted and knew who was going to be involved in our prelim and main task, we planned and decided on what we were going to do for our prelim. We talked about exactly what we do and include in our prelim, for example we talked about the shots we had to include and the props that would be used. We also talked about the costume that would be used during filming as well.

We knew that we had to include;

• Match on action
• Shot reverse shot
• 180 degree rule

What we did

After we had talked about the basics as a group, we started to plan out how and what we would film, me and Tommy Brading would be the main actors within the clip. We would use a long shot, mid shot, low angle shot and pans when Tommy had entered the building and was on his way to the office, this enabled us to show his journey and his emotions whilst not taking up to much time. We would use match on action when Tommy opens the door to the office and then enters the office and during the meeting between me and Tommy within the office, we would stick to the 180 degree rule and also use shot reverse shot when we were speaking to each other. We decided to do because it met our Preliminary task requirements and also it worked well with our idea of a meeting because you could see clearly who was involved and the mood of the conversation by the match on action just before the conversation begins. Finally we used a low angle shot towards the end of the meeting when Tommy stands up and then exits the room to show the power he has and the anger that is within him. We also created a Story board and a script when planning.

Script

(After entering the building and making his way to the office, Tommy opens the door and storms into the office)

Tommy- This is a fucking joke!

(Throws freddos)

Brandon- Please take a seat sir and tell me what your problem is

(Tommy picks up the freddos and then sits down)

Brandon- right now you're say down what seems to be the problem sir?

Tommy- My problem sir, is that these (holds up freddos) were 50p, freddos back in the day were 10p! This is ripped off, you're ripping everyone off, what is your deal!

Brandon- I understand you're annoyed sit but I am the head of marketing and distribution, I don't deal with the costs of these items I just simply deal with the clients who buy these items and therefore contact them and so on.

Tommy- Well fine then, but you better tell the person who is in charge of the costs that I am looking for them and I am really pissed off!

(Tommy stands up and storms out the room)
