Editing

-Shot reverse shot

A shot reverse shot is where the camera will be on one person as they are speaking then when the other begins to speak the camera straight cuts to them and then when the other person begins to speak again it does the same again.

-Straight cut

A straight cut is where the scene changes from one to another without any fancy effects and its usually not noticed.

-Fade in/out

A fade in or out is where the scene appears or changes opacity slowly from nothing to max so it goes from not visible to visible.

-Dissolve

A dissolve is where the scene changes by slowly disintegrating bit by bit until eventually there is nothing left. Similar to a fade in and out however it is usually a slower edit.

-Montage

A montage is a group of clips or scenes put together and then played as one scene.

-Transition

A transition is similar to a straight cut however during the scene change you can add more effects like fade from black and so on.
